'Where the Elevator Takes Us'

A studio fashion film that runs two looks hard against each other: performers lit tight against black, where the patent and mesh carry every highlight, then the same figures on a blown-out white ground with the colour channels pulled apart. Shape does the work rather than detail, so the frame stays composed and lets the movement cross it.

I shot second camera, covering the alternate angle alongside Colin J Smith, who shot and cut the film. It is early work, and a good example of the discipline the job asks for: matching the A camera on exposure and contrast take by take, so two angles of the same set-up cut together without a seam.
